Oasis Reunion Hype Explodes: Secret Tour Pre-Production, More Classics Promised!

The iconic British rock band Oasis, after a prolonged sixteen-year hiatus marked by a highly publicized feud between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, recently concluded their triumphant "Live ’25" reunion tour. The tour wrapped up in Brazil on Sunday, November 23, following an impressive run of 41 sold-out shows across five continents. The rapturous reception from fans, who had been longing for the band's return, has ignited fervent speculation about the possibility of future performances.
Despite the overwhelming success of the reunion, the prospect of additional shows in 2026 remains shrouded in ambiguity. Liam Gallagher, the band's frontman, has been actively fueling this uncertainty through a series of cryptic posts on X (formerly Twitter). He initially teased fans with messages such as "I know things you don’t" and "it’s not even half time yet," hinting at further plans. However, his responses have often been contradictory; after admitting to "a few tuts and raised eyebrows" when he mentioned seeing fans next year, he then offered a definitive "No" when directly asked about a 2026 tour. This was seemingly corroborated by the band's official channels, which posted about a "pause for a period of reflection." Yet, Liam soon reopened the door, spreading "holiday joy" with comments like, "There’s loads more classics we need to play for you when we go out again," and agreeing to incorporate fan-requested songs like "Hindu Times," "Colombia," and "Go let it out" into a future setlist.
While the demand for more live performances is high, Liam Gallagher has made his stance on new Oasis music unequivocally clear. When a fan speculated about a new album, Liam responded with characteristic bluntness: "It’s not I honestly do t see the point it won’t be as good as the old stuff im quite happy singing the old stuff I’m not 1 of those WANKERS that need to keep pushing it forward or sideways or backwards in some cases NOSTALGIA forever." He further cemented his position by declaring, "New music is for WANKERS," leaving no doubt that fans should expect no new material from the group, only a potential continuation of their classic repertoire.
Adding another layer to the reunion's narrative, tour video director Jon Shrimpton offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the extensive planning involved. In a celebratory post on Monday, November 24, Shrimpton revealed that the "Live ’25" tour had undergone 14 months of pre-production and involved "lots of well kept secrets." He noted that plans were firmly in motion by September of the previous year, just weeks after the official reunion announcement, and praised the "incredible, talented, ego-free, happy crew." This revelation prompted astute fans on Reddit to calculate that pre-production likely began in May or June of the previous year, several months before the public was informed. This suggests that the Gallagher brothers may have reconciled and commenced planning their return significantly earlier than they let on, with some fans even accusing Liam of maintaining a "charade" about their non-speaking terms during his June 2024 solo arena tour, just prior to the reunion announcement.
