Nicki Minaj Ignites Controversy, Defends Trump Support
Nicki Minaj publicly reaffirmed her support for President Donald Trump during a Fox News appearance, discussing her role as a judge in the Trump administration's Million Dollar Pitch Competition. The rapper expressed admiration for Trump's grounded nature and dismissed critics of her political involvement, consistent with past interactions.
A Rapper, Nicki Minaj has publicly affirmed her unwavering support for President Donald Trump, recently appearing on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle on Friday, September 18.
During her discussion, Minaj delved into the Trump administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition for small businesses, an initiative she is actively involved in.
The conversation, which also featured Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Kelly Loeffler, naturally pivoted to Minaj’s relationship with President Trump.
Minaj expressed her honor in collaborating with the administration and President Trump, stating, “He has inspired many people, not just me. He’s fun.”
She elaborated on her admiration, describing Trump as not only smart and the President but also someone she can relate to. “Every time I see him, or every time I see him speaking to other people, he’s just himself.
He’s very grounded. It’s easy to connect with him. It’s easy to feel like he heard you, he understands you. I just love him. I’m not going to ever make excuses for that,” she affirmed.
Her involvement centers on the Trump administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, which brings together five small-business finalists vying for a portion of a $1 million prize pool. The SBA had previously announced in August that Minaj would serve as one of the competition’s esteemed judges.
She is joined on the judging panel by entrepreneur and private equity fund manager Grant Cardone, and Airbnb co-founder and U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia.
The event is hosted by actor Dean Cain, and the live finale of the competition took place in Washington, D.C., on September 18, where the five finalists competed for a total of $1 million in growth capital, funded by Clover Network.
When questioned during the Fox News interview about her response to critics regarding her decision to work with President Trump, Minaj was unequivocal, stating, “Absolutely nothing,” and adding, “I don’t know why I should.”
This public stance is consistent with her previous interactions with the President. Minaj had previously met with President Trump at the Trump Accounts Summit in January, where she lauded him and declared herself his “No. 1 fan.”
President Trump reciprocated the praise during a presidential luncheon in July, singling out the rapper by saying, “She’s a fantastic person and she’s a woman that’s respected by everybody. And she’s got real talent, Nicki Minaj. Nicki, stand up, please. Such a great person and respected by everybody.”
