Mystery Deepens: Fubara's Post-Reinstatement Disappearance Rocks Rivers Politics

The current whereabouts of Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, remain unknown 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu officially lifted the state of emergency declaration in the region. This development has sparked concern and disappointment among the governor's supporters.

Earlier in the day, thousands of Governor Fubara's supporters had converged at the main entrance of the Rivers State Government House. Their expectation was to witness Governor Fubara's highly anticipated resumption of duties, following a six-month suspension imposed by President Bola Tinubu.

However, the gathering ended in disappointment as both Governor Fubara and his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, failed to appear and address the assembled crowd. This absence left many questions unanswered regarding the governor's immediate plans and current status.

Efforts made by a correspondent from LEADERSHIP to ascertain the governor's location and status proved futile. Top aides to Governor Fubara, including his Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, and his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, did not respond to repeated calls or text messages regarding the governor's whereabouts.
