Mega Millions Move? Galatasaray Responds to Staggering Victor Osimhen Transfer Rumors

Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian forward, has once again become a central figure in summer transfer discussions, with his long-term future at Turkish champions Galatasaray generating significant speculation. Soccernet.ng reports that Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has addressed these mounting rumors.
Osimhen's career has seen him attract considerable attention from Europe's elite clubs even before his departure from Napoli in 2024. He reportedly came close to joining Premier League side Chelsea, but the deal fell through over personal terms. The prolific 27-year-old also declined a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia before ultimately moving to Galatasaray on loan in 2024. The Cimbom later made the transfer permanent for a record-breaking €75 million, making him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history.
Since his arrival in Istanbul, Osimhen has lived up to his reputation as one of Europe's most effective forwards, netting 59 goals in 74 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray, including an impressive 22 goals this season. These consistent, high-level performances have continued to draw interest from numerous top clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. Reports suggest Galatasaray is holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €150 million for their star striker.
Despite the intense speculation, Galatasaray vice president Abdullah Kavukcu has stated that no definitive decision has been made regarding Osimhen's future. Speaking to Fanatik, Kavukcu personally expressed his reluctance to sell the player, saying, "Would I sell Osimhen for €150 million? Speaking as Abdullah Kavukcu, I would not sell him, but the final decision belongs to our President and the Board of Directors." He further clarified that, as of now, Osimhen remains with the club, and no meetings concerning transfers or offers have been held or even reviewed. Kavukcu acknowledged that "naturally, everyone is keeping Osimhen under close observation anyway."
Osimhen recently played a pivotal role in securing Galatasaray's fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title, scoring a brilliant brace in the 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor. This marked his third trophy in two seasons with the Istanbul giants, further intensifying speculation about his potential departure. However, the Nigerian forward has developed a deep connection with the club's supporters since his 2024 arrival and has publicly expressed his affection for Galatasaray.
Galatasaray, for their part, remains committed to retaining one of their most crucial players as they aim to maintain domestic dominance and enhance their competitiveness in European competitions next season. While current indications suggest Osimhen may stay in Istanbul for at least another season, the relentless interest from Europe’s biggest clubs and the upcoming summer transfer window mean the situation could still evolve in the coming months.
