Lusaka Shocker! DEC Uncovers Abandoned Mansion, Six Vehicles in Libala Stage 4 Raid!

The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has recently made a significant discovery, uncovering an abandoned house and six motor vehicles in Lusaka's Libala Stage 4 area. This development stems from reports received from concerned members of the public who alerted the Commission to the suspected abandoned properties. Acting on these reports, the DEC undertook a verification exercise on Monday, March 16, 2026, establishing the site as House No. 12 along Mbila Street.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a total of six abandoned motor vehicles. These included a white Toyota Land Cruiser with Registration No. BSR 5452, a white Toyota Mark II bearing Registration No. BAJ 8672, and a Toyota Corolla with Registration No. AIC 5873. Additionally, a blue Toyota Corolla with Registration No. BAV 4906, a grey Toyota Axio with Registration No. BAT 1248, and one unregistered Toyota Cresta were secured from the premises.
Beyond the vehicles, other items were seized and secured from the site, indicating a broader scope of the abandoned property. These included twelve (12) new R17 wheels, two (02) laptop bags, one (01) Pentamark Generator set, one (01) Loudspeaker, one (01) Suitcase, and one (01) box containing company documents.
Amidst these findings, the Drug Enforcement Commission has addressed assertions circulating via some media platforms that indicate the discovered properties belong to the late former President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu. The DEC has clarified that such claims are unfounded, as investigations into the true ownership and circumstances surrounding the properties are still ongoing. No conclusions have been reached, and the Commission emphasizes that speculative information is premature.
Allan Tamba, the Public Relations Officer for the Drug Enforcement Commission, confirmed these developments in a statement issued from Lusaka. He stated that the motor vehicles have since been secured and assured the public that they would be informed of the outcomes once the ongoing investigations are concluded. Tamba also issued a stern urging to citizens to verify facts before attracting media attention, cautioning that unverified information can potentially cause unnecessary public panic and stress.
