K-Pop Sensation ATEEZ Lands Third Billboard 200 No. 1

ATEEZ has achieved a significant milestone by securing its third No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 albums chart with their latest release, "GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5." This accomplishment, for the chart dated July 11, follows their previous chart-toppers, "GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2" in 2024 and "THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL" in 2023. Since their first top 10 entry in 2022, the group has amassed an impressive nine top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, establishing them as the group with the most top 10 entries in the 2020s, surpassing previous ties with Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

"GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5" debuted with a career-high 228,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States during the week ending July 3. This remarkable figure was largely propelled by robust pure album sales, accounting for 223,000 units, which also marks a personal best for the act. The album simultaneously debuted at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. The remaining units consisted of 5,000 SEA (streaming equivalent albums), translating to 4.96 million on-demand official streams, with track equivalent albums (TEA) contributing a negligible sum.

The success of "GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5" can be partly attributed to its extensive physical release strategy. The album was made available across 30 CD variants and five vinyl variants. These editions were highly appealing to collectors, as they included various collectible items such as photocards, posters, and stickers, with some items randomized to encourage multiple purchases. This strategy clearly resonated with their fanbase, driving substantial pure album sales.

The Billboard 200 chart, compiled by Luminate, ranks the most popular albums weekly in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption. Equivalent album units are calculated from album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). One unit equates to one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams. Luminate, an independent data provider, conducts thorough reviews and authentication of all submitted data to ensure accuracy before final chart calculations are published.

"GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5" was the sole debut within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for this week. It displaced Olivia Rodrigo's "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love," which fell to No. 2 with 127,000 equivalent album units (down 29%) after two weeks at the top. Other former No. 1 albums rounding out the top 10 included Ella Langley’s "Dandelion" holding at No. 3 (82,000 units), Drake’s "ICEMAN" at No. 4 (80,000 units), Morgan Wallen’s "I’m the Problem" at No. 5 (79,000 units) and "One Thing at a Time" at No. 9 (40,000 units, up 1%), Noah Kahan’s "The Great Divide" at No. 6 (64,000 units), and Michael Jackson’s "Thriller" at No. 7 (48,000 units) and "Number Ones" at No. 8 (43,000 units). Olivia Rodrigo’s "The Art of Loving" completed the top 10 at No. 10 with 34,000 units. The new July 11, 2026-dated chart will be fully posted on Billboard’s website on July 7.
