Jeep Unveils Commando 392: The Ultimate Off-Road Machine Built Exclusively for Soldiers

The legendary Jeep, born from a U.S. Army brief to dominate unforgiving terrains during World War II, has once again embraced its military heritage. In celebration of American veterans and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Armed Forces, Fox Factory Vehicles has revealed the 2026 Jeep Wrangler Commando 392 a battle-ready, limited-edition off-roader engineered to honor the spirit of service.
This special edition Wrangler 392, the result of a high-profile collaboration between Fox Factory and Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, amplifies the brand’s off-road DNA with military-grade capability. Built on the foundation of the Wrangler Unlimited and its 392 Hemi V-8 engine, the Commando 392 adds a 3.5-inch JKS Suspension lift kit and Fox Racing 3.0-inch external-reservoir shocks. Its muscular stance is completed with four massive 37-inch Nitto Tire Ridge Grappler mud-terrain tires, fitted on 17-inch beadlock-capable Jeep wheels finished in white. To enhance cargo utility, the spare tire mount has been relocated to a rear cargo rack, which features an integrated accessory panel for storing essential trail gear.
Visually, the Commando 392 pays homage to the Willys GP, the original Jeep that defined off-road toughness. Painted in the exact hue used for Jeep’s Willys ’41 special edition, it sports high-clearance steel fenders and a redesigned front bumper with body-color inserts. Replacing the standard hardtop is a Bestop Bimini soft cover, paired with custom tube doors for an open-air military aesthetic. Inside, the interior features tan leather upholstery embroidered with “Commando” accents, emphasizing the model’s exclusive identity and heritage.
Performance enthusiasts can push the Commando 392 even further with optional upgrades. A Whipple supercharger boosts the Hemi V-8’s output to a staggering 705 horsepower, up from the standard 470. Additional options include a Magnaflow exhaust system for a deeper, more aggressive tone, and a 12,000-pound Warn winch for heavy-duty recovery in extreme conditions. These additions transform the Commando 392 into one of the most formidable Wranglers ever built.
True to its spirit of service, exclusivity defines this model. Only 250 units will be produced, 249 reserved for active U.S. military personnel and veterans, and a single civilian unit set for auction during Military Appreciation Month next May. All auction proceeds will benefit the United Service Organizations (USO), which supports American troops worldwide. With a price premium of $69,995 over the standard Wrangler 392, the Commando’s total cost surpasses $100,000, cementing its place as a rare and powerful tribute to military excellence.
