Hollywood Mourns 'Ghostbusters' Actress Jennifer Runyon Dies at 65

Jennifer Runyon, an actress known for her roles in Ghostbusters and the CBS sitcom Charles in Charge, has died at age 65.
Runyon's family confirmed her death in a social media post on Sunday, March 8, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.
"This past Friday [March 6], our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family," the post read.
"She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. Rest in peace our Jenn."
Runyon's friend, Bewitchedalum Erin Murphy, also confirmed her death in a Facebook post on Saturday, March 7, writing that she had "a brief battle with cancer."
"Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children," Murphy, 61, wrote.
Runyon launched her acting career with the 1980 slasher film To All a Good Night.
She went on to appear in supporting roles in comedies like Up the Creek (1984) and the supernatural hit Ghostbusters (1984).
On television, she landed a lead role as Gwendolyn Pierce in the first season of the sitcom Charles in Charge (1984).
In 1988, she brought her charm to the small screen as Cindy Brady in A Very Brady Christmas, starred in the teen drama The In Crowd, and appeared in the pilot of Quantum Leap.
Her career spans a mix of film and TV, including the comedy 18 Again! and guest spots on popular shows such as Murder, She Wrote, A Man Called Sarge, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
She was born on April 1, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, grew up in a showbiz family with her father, Jim Runyon, was a famous radio DJ, and her mother, Jane Roberts, was an actress.
In 1991, she married Todd Corman, a college basketball coach who also dabbled in film and TV production.
Together, they raised two children, Wyatt and Bayley.
By 2014, Jennifer had stepped back from acting, focusing on a new chapter as a teacher.
The Facebook tribute ended with a heartfelt message:
“She will always be remembered for her joy, her love for life, and the devotion she showed to family and friends. I know she’s watching over us with that beautiful smile. Rest in peace, our Jenn.”
Her memory lives on not just through her unforgettable roles, but through the warmth and love she gave to everyone around her.
