Government Tech Reforms Fueling Economic Boom, Vice President Shettima Declares!

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reiterated the Federal Government's unwavering dedication to implementing technology-driven reforms across Nigeria. These initiatives are already demonstrating tangible positive outcomes, significantly restoring investor confidence in the nation's economy. Shettima conveyed this crucial message during the opening ceremony of the Digital Nigeria International Conference and Exhibition (DNICE 2025), an event meticulously organized by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and held in Abuja.
The DNICE 2025 conference, a three-day event, was convened under the pertinent theme of “Innovation for a Sustainable Digital Future: Accelerating Growth, Inclusion, and Global Competitiveness.” It served as a pivotal gathering point, drawing together a diverse array of tech stakeholders, investors, and innovators from various parts of the world, fostering collaboration and exchange.
Highlighting the imperative behind these reforms, Shettima remarked on the prevailing global economic uncertainties, evolving international alliances, and the rapid pace at which traditional jobs are being displaced by emergent technologies. He stressed that these circumstances necessitated bold and decisive action. He further affirmed, “Our economic reforms are stabilising the sector, and I am proud to share that these reforms have inspired investor confidence. The world is taking note of our steady progress,” underscoring the international recognition Nigeria is now receiving.
The Vice President profoundly emphasized that digital innovation is not merely an option but a sustainable and inclusive pathway towards achieving national relevance and comprehensive transformation. He reassured that the government’s policies are thoughtfully designed to ensure that the widespread benefits of this economic growth are accessible to all citizens, promoting a truly inclusive digital future for Nigeria.
