Fulham Launches Audacious Multi-Million Dollar Bid for USMNT Star Ricardo Pepi

Fulham has reportedly made a significant offer for PSV Eindhoven's highly-rated forward, Ricardo Pepi. Sources indicate that the London club submitted a bid of €32 million, equivalent to approximately $38 million, for the 23-year-old United States international. Separately, a bid of £28 million has also been reported. PSV, however, is understood to be seeking a higher fee, closer to €35 million or £30 million, to part ways with their key striker. Fulham remains hopeful of reaching an agreement despite the current valuation gap.
Pepi has been a prominent figure for PSV since joining the club in 2023. This season, he has demonstrated his scoring prowess with eight goals in 15 Eredivisie appearances and an additional three goals in five Champions League matches. Across his 60 games for PSV, Pepi has accumulated 26 goals, in addition to his 13 goals in 34 appearances for the US Men's National Team. His career began at FC Dallas, followed by spells at Ausburg and Groningen before his move to PSV.
Unfortunately, Pepi recently sustained a broken forearm in early January, an injury expected to sideline him for two months. PSV boss Peter Bosz expressed his disappointment over the timing, stating, "All signs were green for a strong second half of the season, so this is incredibly disappointing. First and foremost for him and obviously for us as well." This injury setback could impact ongoing negotiations.
Fulham's pursuit of a new striker comes at a crucial time for manager Marco Silva's squad. The team is currently facing a void in their attacking lineup, with Rodrigo Muniz sidelined following hamstring surgery in November. Furthermore, current first-choice striker Raul Jimenez, aged 34, is nearing the end of his contract, which expires at the close of the season. Beyond the striker position, Fulham is also navigating other squad adjustments, including the likely departure of winger Adama Traore, as confirmed by Silva, and ongoing but stalled negotiations for Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb. The acquisition of Ricardo Pepi would significantly bolster Fulham's offensive capabilities and provide a long-term solution up front.
