Explosive Breakup Saga: Director Trevor Lays Down Ultimatum as Eve Mungai Slams Rumors

The high-profile breakup between Kenyan content creators Director Trevor and Eve Mungai, who ended their six-year relationship in early 2024, has continued to ignite public discourse surrounding love, loyalty, and business partnerships in the digital age. This split, which made national headlines, has seen various parties weigh in, offering perspectives on reconciliation, regret, and future collaborations.
Geoffrey Mosiria, Nairobi County’s Chief Officer for Environment, issued a heartfelt appeal to Director Trevor, urging him to reconcile with Eve Mungai. In a recent video, Mosiria underscored the value of forgiveness, mutual growth, and preserving long-term bonds, cautioning against abandoning one's partner for “a passing convenience.”
According to Mosiria, Director Trevor confided in him, revealing that Mungai chose to walk away from their partnership after her career gained significant traction and widespread attention, leading her to believe she no longer needed Trevor’s support. While acknowledging he couldn't confirm their authenticity, Mosiria noted what he perceived as possible signs of regret from Mungai in her recent online activity, further warning that the encouragement found in “digital communities lacks lasting commitment” and often fades quickly.
Mosiria extended a direct call to Mungai, stating he had already discussed with Trevor the possibility of forgiveness and a professional reunion. He suggested that if Mungai was indeed struggling with her social media presence and income, Trevor, whom he described as a skilled “builder and brander,” could once again position her for success across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Mosiria implored Trevor to “create space” for her, even if their personal relationship was over, and to restore her access to former platforms to help rebuild her brand.
Beyond the immediate context of Trevor and Mungai, Mosiria offered broader advice to young women navigating fame and relationships. He cautioned against abandoning a supportive partner upon achieving success, warning that chasing fleeting attention from other men or social media often leads to exploitation and regret, leaving women to ponder why they deserted their initial supporters.
In response to mounting speculation and Mosiria's claims, Eve Mungai publicly dismissed online rumors suggesting she was heartbroken, regretted the breakup, or was battling depression. The popular YouTuber firmly asserted that she had not made any such emotional confessions, labeling the claims as “very fake news” and “laughable.” She took to Instagram to mock the allegations, sarcastically questioning how she could have made such statements, and responding with a simple “God forbid” to the suggestion of depression.
Director Trevor, CEO of the Content Creators Association, eventually broke his silence regarding the persistent rumors surrounding his ex-girlfriend. In an interview with Milele FM’s Ankali Ray, Trevor refuted Mosiria’s version of their conversation, clarifying that their discussion was purely business-related and had no bearing on Eve. He also firmly dismissed any speculation that he would create personal space for Mungai in his life or return their former joint YouTube channel to her.
However, Trevor maintained that, in his capacity as CEO of the Content Creators Association, he would not hesitate to offer professional support to Eve, but only if she were to request his help. When questioned about his wife, Kiki Yvonne’s, comfort with him working with Eve, Trevor deferred to Kiki, stating, “She should talk to her, the manager. She manages everything.”
Kiki Yvonne subsequently joined the conversation, reiterating her firm stance. She made it clear that any future professional interaction between Trevor and Eve would first have to be approved by her. “I should be asked first,” Kiki asserted, adding that if Trevor had an ex requiring professional engagement, “she should look for me because it’s work.” Kiki also expressed strong confidence in her marriage, subtly hinting at plans for a child with Trevor during an upcoming vacation, a remark perceived by some as a jab at the ongoing drama.
