Duchess of Sussex Praises Prince Harry in Emotional Podcast Debut

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently offered an intimate look into her life and marriage in her first-ever podcast interview, appearing on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. During the conversation, a tearful Meghan expressed profound happiness and appreciation for her husband, Prince Harry, stating, “That man loves me so much. Look what we’ve built? We have a beautiful life, we have two healthy children.”
She elaborated on her deep connection with Harry, whom she affectionately described as having “slayed the dragon, saved the princess,” drawing an analogy to the final level of Super Mario Bros. The mother of Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, emphasized her gratitude for a partner who is so supportive, highlighting his constant dedication to ensuring their family’s safety, protection, and upliftment, all while still making time for date nights. She noted, “I feel like it’s more of a honeymoon period for us now,” also adding praise for Harry's physical appearance and, more importantly, his beautiful heart.

This candid reflection comes five years after the couple made the significant decision to step back from Royal duties in 2020 and relocate to Meghan’s native California. Meghan shared her personal philosophy of moving beyond the need to “prove it,” stating, “I was like, I am so done with the prove it game. I know that I’m a great friend, I know the kind of mom I am. I know the kind of human being I am and I know how I show up and I love being that sort of person with the people I love. So, you know, maybe part of worthiness starts when you stop trying to be part of the ‘prove it’ game.”
Since their move,Prince Harry has continued his philanthropic endeavors, including meeting with California firefighters fighting the Pacific Palisades and Altadena wildfires in January 2025. He also returned for a second consecutive year to the Living Legends of Aviation ceremony to honor the California fire department, recognizing their courage and commitment in protecting communities.

The Duchess also opened up about past professional hurdles, revealing a specific facial feature that hindered her career as an actress auditioning for commercials. She recounted how her commercial agent struggled to submit her for beauty or skincare advertisements because of her natural, freckled complexion. “They’re like, ‘No, no, no, no. It’s just never going to work because freckles aren’t a sign of beauty,’” Markle recalled.
