Drake Breaks Spotify Records: Most-Streamed Artist, Album & Song in a Day

Drake has once again made his mark in the music industry, setting unprecedented single-day streaming records on Spotify for 2026.
On Friday, May 15, Spotify officially announced that the acclaimed artist achieved the most-streamed artist, album, and song honors on the platform for the year, propelled by his latest solo projects.
The record-breaking album, titled "Iceman," was one of three surprise releases Drake dropped on Friday, alongside "Maid of Honour" and "Habibti."
The single-day song record for 2026 went to "Make Them Cry," the powerful opening track from "Iceman."
This impressive feat marks Drake's first new solo material since his 2023 album, "For All the Dogs."
Last year, he collaborated with fellow Canadian artist PARTYNEXTDOOR on the joint album, "Some Sexy Songs 4 U."
Spotify confirmed the milestones across its social channels, stating, "On May 15th, Drake became Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2026 in a single day, ICEMAN became the most-streamed album of 2026 in a single day, and ‘Make Them Cry’ became the most-streamed song in a single day in 2026 so far."
This achievement is particularly notable as "Iceman" surpassed BTS’ "ARIRANG," which previously held the record for the most-streamed album in a single day in 2026 after its release in March.
Adding an interesting twist to the narrative, Drake name-drops the popular South Korean boy band BTS in his record-setting track, “Make Them Cry.”
In a widely shared Instagram Stories clip, BTS members V and J-Hope were seen reacting to the song.
The duo froze, looking stunned at the camera, as Drizzy rapped the line, "I’m feeling like BTS, ’cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered."
This candid moment highlighted the cross-cultural impact of Drake's new music and its immediate reception by other global music icons.
