Diaspora Group Declares Support For Tinubu, Ambode Ahead of 2027 Presidential Race

Nigerians living abroad, under the banner of the Tinubu Ambo Support Group (TASG), have publicly declared their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid. The group vowed to mobilize Nigerians across continents to ensure his return to office in 2027. This declaration came during a solidarity meeting in England, detailed in a statement signed by Mr. Kelvin Muyiwa, the TASG Diaspora Director, and made available to journalists. The group also commended the administration’s efforts toward stabilizing Nigeria’s economy and rebuilding public confidence in governance.
Mr. Muyiwa emphasized that, despite initial challenges, the Tinubu-led administration has remained steadfast in its pursuit of sustainable economic transformation. He pointed to major reforms and growth recorded in key sectors such as infrastructure, power generation, and industrial expansion as proof of progress. According to Muyiwa, President Tinubu’s visionary policies are laying the groundwork for long-term national prosperity. “We in the Diaspora have observed the President’s pragmatic steps in reviving critical sectors of the economy,” he said. “His Renewed Hope Agenda is beginning to yield results, and he deserves another term to consolidate on the gains achieved so far.”
In his address, Muyiwa issued a vital call to action for Nigerians at home, urging them to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He noted that active participation in the democratic process remains crucial for national development and the preservation of Nigeria’s democratic ideals. “We urge every eligible Nigerian, especially the youths, to go out and register for their PVCs,” he stated. “The power to decide the future of our country lies in our hands.”
Beyond their presidential endorsement, the Tinubu Ambo Support Group also threw their support behind Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, former Governor of Lagos State, urging him to contest again in 2027. They described Ambode as a pragmatic and results-oriented administrator whose leadership transformed Lagos into a benchmark for urban governance. The group highlighted achievements during Ambode’s first tenure, including infrastructural renewal and innovative urban reforms, as key reasons for their endorsement.
The group praised Ambode’s leadership, describing it as visionary and deeply people-centered. “Ambode’s first tenure remains a benchmark in good governance, urban renewal, and people-oriented leadership,” TASG said. “We strongly believe that bringing him back will further accelerate the development of Lagos State.”
By aligning behind both President Tinubu and former Governor Ambode, the TASG Diaspora Network reinforced its vision of supporting tested leaders capable of steering Nigeria and Lagos State toward inclusive growth and stability. Their declaration signifies a growing diaspora influence in the nation’s political narrative, reflecting renewed hope in Nigeria’s path to progress.
