Caroline Flack Tragedy: Mother's Heartbreak Over Texts Found on Lewis Burton's Phone

The tragic passing of beloved Love Island host Caroline Flack in 2020, at the age of 40, continues to deeply impact her family, particularly her mother, Christine Flack. Caroline took her own life after learning her assault trial, involving then-boyfriend Lewis Burton, 32, would proceed, despite initial hopes for a caution. This decision followed a heated argument in 2019 where Caroline allegedly discovered messages from another woman on Lewis’s phone, leading to charges of assaulting the model and a severe decline in her mental health.
Recently, Christine Flack has expressed renewed heartbreak and persistent questions regarding the text messages Caroline reportedly saw on Lewis's phone. Speculation has arisen, fueled by a Mirror report, suggesting these texts might have been from Lottie Tomlinson, 26, the younger sister of One Direction's Louis Tomlinson.
Lottie Tomlinson, now an influencer engaged to Lewis Burton and expecting his daughter, already shares a son named Lucky with the tennis player. The couple became an item six months after Caroline’s death, having first met at a commemorative party three months post-demise. Addressing the burgeoning speculation about the text messages Caroline is believed to have found, Lottie's representative emphatically told the Mail: "It is not true at all, they hadn't even met before at the time of the incident. Hope this clears that rumour up."
The timing and circumstances of Lewis Burton's new relationship have added to Christine’s grief. After Lottie shared an Instagram family photo with Lewis and Lucky, captioning it as their "last time as a three" in anticipation of their daughter's arrival, a friend of Caroline's conveyed the emotional toll on Christine. "It must be devastating for Christine, she has lost her daughter and now Lewis has become some kind of influencer with his girlfriend, living in apparent bliss and about to become a father for the second time," the friend revealed to the media.
Nearly five years after Caroline's untimely passing, Christine Flack is embarking on a follow-up documentary on her daughter's suicide, this time in partnership with Disney+. The forthcoming film aims to delve into what transpired during Caroline's final hours and critically examine if her death could have been prevented. Christine reflected on her motivation in a recent statement: "I still have so many questions about what happened to Caroline in her final months, and it's something I feel deeply compelled to explore, even though I know it will be challenging. I'm pleased to be working with the team at Curious Films once again, in the hope of bringing clarity and understanding to Carrie's story – not just for her, but for everyone who cared about her."
