Camilo's 'Vida de Rico' Hits Epic Billion Views Milestone on YouTube!

Colombian singer and songwriter Camilo has officially joined YouTube’s prestigious Billion Views Club, as his feel-good 2020 hit, “Vida de Rico,” has surpassed one billion streams on the platform. This remarkable achievement marks the second time Camilo has reached this significant milestone, following his breakthrough 2018 collaboration, “Desconocidos,” featuring Mau y Ricky and Manuel Turizo, which was his first entry into the exclusive club.

The success of “Vida de Rico” extends beyond its streaming numbers. The music video, notably directed by Camilo’s wife, Evaluna Montaner, captivated audiences worldwide. Following its release, the track demonstrated strong chart performance, climbing to the No. 1 spot on the Latin Airplay chart on January 30, 2021, after a sixteen-week ascent. It also secured multiple weeks atop the Latin Pop Airplay tally, solidifying its status as a major hit. Camilo brought the song to life with memorable performances during Billboard’s virtual Latin Music Week in 2020, held during the pandemic, and subsequently at the 22nd annual Latin Grammy Awards.

Currently, the six-time Latin Grammy winner is engaging with his global fanbase through his extensive Camilo Worldwide Tour. The tour, which commenced in June in Spain, is set to continue its run across Mexico with fourteen scheduled dates, beginning in Mexico City on August 28 and concluding in Acapulco on September 20. Following these engagements, Camilo will take his tour to San Juan and Santo Domingo, before returning to the United States in October. This ambitious trek is designed to visit nearly forty cities across more than fifteen countries spanning Europe and the Americas, culminating in a grand finale concert on December 11 at Bogotá’s Movistar Arena in his homeland.

He described perfectionism as “a burden, a mask of cowardice,” advocating instead for a philosophy of “good enough.” He believes that excellence is measured in the final product and totality, asserting that “Whatever is closest to the first creative seed is almost always the best.”
