Bollywood & Cricket Stars Unite to Applaud India's Operation Sindoor

India's armed forces executed 'Operation Sindoor' in the early hours of Wednesday, launching precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These strikes specifically targeted strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke, effectively destroying terrorist infrastructure. This decisive action was a direct retaliation to the barbaric April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people, primarily tourists.

The operation garnered widespread acclaim from across India's sporting fraternity. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar praised the mission, stating, "Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength. India's shield is her people. There's no room for terrorism in this world. We're ONE TEAM! Jai Hind." Other prominent cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, and Shikhar Dhawan also took to social media to commend India's strong response. Sehwag humorously remarked, "Agar koi aap par patthar phenke toh uspar Phool Phenko, Lekin Gamle ke saath (If someone throws stones at you then respond with flowers but not without the pots they are planted in). Jai Hind." Badminton ace Saina Nehwal, Olympic boxer Vijender Singh, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, and chess player Vidith Gujrathi also expressed their support, emphasizing India's zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and the necessity of punishing brutal attacks like the one in Pahalgam.

The Indian film industry also rallied in support of 'Operation Sindoor'. Actors Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Allu Arjun, and Suniel Shetty were among the many who praised the armed forces. Akshay Kumar posted, "Jai Hind. Jai Mahakaal," while Kangana Ranaut, also an MP, reiterated the government's "zero tolerance" stance on terrorism, wishing the forces safety and success. Allu Arjun posted, "May justice be served. Jai Hind #OperationSindoor," and Jr NTR shared, "Praying for the safety & strength of our Indian Army in #OperationSindoor. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳 " Suniel Shetty emphasized, "Zero tolerance. Total justice." Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur highlighted that India's response demonstrated its responsibility and confidence, hitting precise targets without the rhetoric of war. Other notable figures like Riteish Deshmukh, Madhur Bhandarkar, Nimrat Kaur, Anupam Kher, and Adnan Sami also expressed national unity and support for the armed forces, with many using slogans like "Jai Hind" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai."

The retaliatory strikes followed intense outrage in India and abroad after the Pahalgam attack. In a high-level meeting on April 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had granted the armed forces "complete operational freedom" to determine the mode, targets, and timing of their response to the terror attack, underscoring the nation's resolve to counter terrorism effectively.
