Mint previously reported on May 5, 2025, that Greg Abel, who currently serves as the Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, has been named as Buffett's successor for the CEO position. Abel's tenure as CEO will officially commence on January 1, 2026. He is poised to take the helm of a vast conglomerate that boasts nearly 400,000 employees across numerous diverse sectors.

In 2025 alone, his net worth saw a substantial 6.7% increase, equating to a $9.54 billion rise year-to-date, with a recent addition of $833 million to his fortune.
