Benin Revolutionizes Travel with New Digital Passport and Epass Platform
Seamfix, a prominent provider of digital identity and biometric solutions, has announced the global rollout of ePass, an innovative self-service digital application designed specifically for the renewal of passports for citizens of the Republic of Benin. This pioneering application is built upon GovSmart, Seamfix's advanced government digital identity and service delivery platform, and represents a successful collaborative effort with the Government of the Republic of Benin.
The ePass application significantly streamlines the passport renewal process, enabling Beninese citizens residing overseas to apply for and renew their international passports entirely online. This eliminates the necessity of physical visits to embassies or consular offices, offering unprecedented convenience and accessibility. The service, which was globally launched in October, is now operational and accessible in more than 80 countries worldwide, demonstrating its broad reach and transformative potential for diaspora communities.
Chimezie Emewulu, Group CEO of Seamfix, articulated the company's core mission: "At Seamfix, our goal is simple: enabling people to securely prove who they are so they can access the opportunities they deserve." He further emphasized the impact of ePass, stating, "With ePass, distance is no longer a barrier to trusted identification or access to essential government services." Emewulu also highlighted Seamfix's operational capabilities, noting that their UK-based operations, which benefit from direct access to global banking and payment infrastructure, empower them to provide seamless support to governments and citizens across Africa and globally.
