Ben White's Season Ends, World Cup Dream Crushed by Devastating Injury!
Arsenal Football Club has confirmed that defender Ben White will be sidelined for the remainder of the current season due to a significant knee injury.
This unfortunate development means White will miss Arsenal's final two Premier League matches against Burnley and Crystal Palace, as well as the highly anticipated Champions League final showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 28-year-old sustained a medial knee ligament injury during Sunday's clash against West Ham United, necessitating his substitution in the 28th minute, with Martín Zubimendi coming on as his replacement.
Arsenal released a statement confirming the injury after thorough assessments and specialist reviews, stating it would rule him out for the rest of the campaign.
Adding to the severity of the injury, have indicated that Ben White will also be unavailable for the upcoming World Cup, a source enclosed to ESPN.
While his inclusion in the England World Cup squad was not definitively confirmed, White had successfully worked his way back into manager Thomas Tuchel's considerations.
He had notably made his first appearance since 2022 in a friendly match against Uruguay in March, even marking his return with a goal.
White's absence is a considerable blow to the Gunners, who are already contending with the unavailability of their first-choice right-back, Jurriën Timber.
Ben White had been a consistent starter in recent crucial fixtures, featuring in Arsenal's last three league games and both legs of their Champions League semifinal tie against Atletico Madrid.
The defender has unfortunately been plagued by fitness issues in recent years, including undergoing knee surgery last season and missing significant portions of the current campaign due to a hamstring problem.
This latest injury adds to a challenging period of recurring physical setbacks for the player.
