Beck Unveils Epic Symphony-Backed Australian Tour for 2026

Grammy-winning artist Beck is set to bring a sweeping orchestral reinterpretation of his extensive musical catalog to Australia for the very first time this May.
Following critically acclaimed symphonic performances at renowned venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl, this Australian tour marks a significant and curated return for the acclaimed musician.
The tour comprises five exclusive orchestral shows, including three nights at the iconic Sydney Opera House, where Beck will be joined by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on May 7, 8, and 9.
Subsequently, he will perform two shows at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on May 12 and 13, alongside Philharmonia Australia. These performances promise a unique live experience, foregrounding the cinematic undercurrents that have consistently threaded through Beck’s prolific work.
This special concert series will delve into the rich tapestry of Beck's discography. Albums such as Sea Change and Morning Phase, the latter of which garnered the Album of the Year award at the Grammy Awards, were already known for their orchestral spirit, featuring layered strings and expansive arrangements.
In this new setting, these songs are presented with a renewed emphasis, while earlier material from seminal albums like Odelay and Mutations has been meticulously reshaped.
This re-envisioning aims to reveal melodic details often nuanced or even hidden beneath the genre-hopping production that characterized his output during the 1990s.
Since his breakthrough with the hit single “Loser” in 1994, Beck has demonstrated a remarkable fluidity across diverse musical genres, navigating seamlessly between alternative rock, folk, electronic experimentation, and chamber pop.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has earned multiple Billboard 200 top 10 albumsand a total of eight Grammy Awards.
The orchestral format adopted for this tour serves to powerfully underscore the extraordinary compositional range inherent in his stylistic restlessness, offering audiences a deeper appreciation of his musical genius.
Beck last performed in Australia in 2023, with appearances at Bluesfest and Harvest Rock, complemented by headline theatre dates.
The upcoming 2026 performances, however, represent a more distinctively curated and concept-driven return, aligning his revered catalog with venues historically reserved for classical and large-scale productions.
Tickets for Sydney Opera House Insiders members will be available during a presale beginning March 3, with additional presales commencing on March 4.
General on-sale for all tickets starts March 5, with Sydney tickets available from 10 a.m. AEDT and Melbourne tickets from 11 a.m. AEDT.
