Baby Keem Hits the Jackpot: Debuts First No. 1 Album with 'Ca$ino' Success

Baby Keem has achieved a significant milestone with his new album, "Ca$ino," which debuted atop Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart on March 7. Released through eerie times/pgLang/Columbia Records, the album garnered 72,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week of February 20-26, according to Luminate. This impressive debut also marks Baby Keem’s first No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart and positions "Ca$ino" at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200, solidifying his growing presence in the music industry.

The first-week success of "Ca$ino" was largely driven by streaming, contributing 55,500 units, which translates to a remarkable 56.7 million official on-demand audio and video streams of the album's tracks. Traditional album sales accounted for an additional 16,500 units, with a minor contribution from individual song sales. For context, one equivalent album unit is measured by either one album sale, 10 individual track sales from an album, or 1,000 paid/subscription tier or 2,500 ad-supported tier official on-demand audio and video streams for songs on the album.

Prior to "Ca$ino," the 25-year-old artist, born Hykeem Carter Jr., made waves with his 2021 debut album, "The Melodic Blue." That project debuted and peaked at No. 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, notably featuring the Grammy Award-winning collaboration "Family Ties" with his cousin Kendrick Lamar, which reached No. 8 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. This history set a high bar for his subsequent releases.

Continuing the legacy of impactful collaborations, the "Ca$ino" track "Good Flirts," featuring Kendrick Lamar and singer Momo Boyd, debuted prominently at No. 8 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, matching Baby Keem’s previous best result on the list with "Family Ties." "Good Flirts" accumulated nearly all of its debut success from 7.7 million official U.S. streams, making it the most streamed "Ca$ino" track of the week and earning it a No. 4 spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart. Furthermore, "Good Flirts" broke into the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 at No. 34. This debut is particularly notable as it marks Momo Boyd's first appearance on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, while Kendrick Lamar adds his 39th career top 10 hit, including seven No. 1s.

"Ca$ino" saw a total of ten of its songs debut on the 50-position Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Beyond "Good Flirts" at No. 8, other tracks making their initial appearance include: "Ca$ino" (No. 10), "House Money" (No. 12), "Birds & the Bees" (No. 14), "Circus Circus Free$tyle" (No. 17), "$ex Appeal" (No. 18), "No Security" (No. 22), "Highway 95 Pt. 2" (No. 26), "I Am Not a Lyricist" (No. 27), and "No Blame" (No. 49). This widespread chart entry underscores the album's immediate and broad impact.
