Ayra Starr Reigns Supreme: Spotify Crowns Her Queen of Afrobeats!

Streaming giant Spotify has officially unveiled its highly anticipated lists of top-performing Afrobeats artists, spotlighting both female talents and popular artists within the Latin American region. Topping the prestigious 'Top 5 Female Afrobeats Artists In The Last 12 Months' list is Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr, who Spotify lauded as "the pop star of Afrobeats."
Following Ayra Starr on the esteemed female artist ranking is Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems, securing the number two spot. The third position was claimed by American-Cameroonian artist Libianca, known for her distinctive sound. Malian-French star Aya Nakamura earned the fourth spot, while British-Nigerian singer Darkoo rounded out the top five, completing a diverse and talented lineup of female voices in Afrobeats. Notably, South African singer Tyla was a surprising omission from the list, despite her significant achievements and multiple major Afrobeats awards over the past year.
In addition to the female artists list, Spotify also released its 'Top 5 Afrobeats Artists In Latin America'. This list showcased a remarkable dominance by Nigerian musicians, who entirely occupied all five positions, underscoring the genre's growing influence in the region.
The Latin American list saw Rema take the top spot, demonstrating his strong appeal in the market. Ayra Starr, already a frontrunner on the female artists list, secured the second position, further cementing her global reach. CKay completed the top three, while music heavyweights Burna Boy and Wizkid claimed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, highlighting their enduring popularity and impact across continents.
