Audi Redefines Car Comfort: A Sneak Peek at the Intuitive 2027 Q9 Interior

Audi is set to introduce its new flagship and largest-ever vehicle, the 2027 Audi Q9 SUV, with a particular focus on the crucial US market where size and spaciousness are highly valued.
Designed as a three-row SUV, the Q9 aims to provide significant stretch-out space and an interior meticulously tuned to American preferences, signaling a strategic move by Audi to bolster its market presence.
A notable feature of the Q9's design is its power-operated doors. All four doors can be opened by a conventional tug on the handle, or for a more technologically advanced experience, via the key fob or a dedicated app, provided no obstructions are present.
Closing the doors is equally convenient, with buttons located on the front doors and rear door frames, or simply by the driver stepping on the brake pedal.
Inside, the Q9 offers an array of luxurious and practical seating options. The prototype showcased top-of-the-line models featuring real cowhide upholstery.
While other available choices will include synthetic leather and even alpaca wool, catering to diverse tastes and preferences.
For an immersive audio experience, the optional high-end Bang & Olufsen stereo boasts "4-D" sound technology.
This innovative system incorporates actuators within the seats that vibrate in sync with the music, allowing occupants to physically "feel" the bass, described as an invigorating way to enjoy sound.
The dashboard of the Q9 draws design inspiration from the Audi Q3 and the electric Q6 E-Tron. It features a prominent, curved, dual-panel display that spans across the driver's side and the center console, complemented by a third screen exclusively for the front passenger.
Despite the abundance of digital displays, the wide center console between the front seats has been thoughtfully simplified.
It now cleanly integrates two covered cupholders, the engine start button, the parking brake, two wireless charging pads, a volume knob, and a minimal set of essential switches.
Further enhancing usability, the transmission selector has been innovatively relocated to a new type of switchgear described as "stalks-that-are-not-stalks," a design element first seen on the Q3.
These rigid, cantilevered protrusions feature a small moving piece on their outside. This re-imagined design not only provides more physical space on the dashboard for other controls, such as a new dial for the wiper functions.
But also aims to offer a much more intuitive and user-friendly experience compared to traditional, often complex, multi-function stalks.
