Anyma's Coachella 2026 Set Stuns With Surprise Appearances from LISA & Joji

Anyma made a highly anticipated return for Coachella 2026 weekend two, following the cancellation of his first weekend performance due to strong winds. On a much stiller night, the producer debuted his new show, ÆDEN, starting late at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Friday night/Saturday morning. Dressed in all white, Anyma took to the stage, which featured a massive screen running its entire length. This screen initially displayed dozens of digitally rendered columns that dramatically crumbled and then rose again.

The stage itself was dynamic, with Anyma’s platform elevating and lowering throughout the show, creating effects that made him appear to float, or to be at the center of fire swirls and other special effects. The performance quickly introduced characters resembling ancient art and mythology, beginning with Michelangelo’s David, who broke down the columns to reveal robot-like elements. Subsequent characters included a Medusa-like creature with hissing snakes, spinning figures with muscular bodies rendered from tree roots, a female demon, and eventually, an angel.

The blend of ancient and modern art is a fundamental concept in the Anyma universe, a theme familiar to those who experienced his End of Genesys residency at Sphere Las Vegas in late 2024 and early 2025. ÆDEN reintroduced visuals from the Sphere show, such as the bugging eyeballs from the “Voices In My Head” segment, which appeared at Coachella but were now rendered in black and seemed to drip black blood. Ellie Goulding also featured, with her image cast on the screen during their 2025 collaboration “Hypnotized.” Unlike her shape-shifting appearance at Sphere, at Coachella she was depicted as a marble statue, aligning with the show's ancient art motifs.

Breaking the typical Coachella trend of special guests only appearing for weekend one, Anyma brought out a host of collaborators, possibly due to the prior cancellation. These included Muse’s Matt Bellamy and Swae Lee. The most anticipated guest was K-Pop superstar LISA, who joined Anyma for the first public performance of their collaborative single “Bad Angel,” released on April 8. LISA appeared onstage in a shimmery, diaphanous dress, while her angelic imagery was simultaneously displayed on the screen. As she walked the runway, she declared herself “pretty pretty bad” for an angel, and a towering LISA hologram was visible in the sky for livestream viewers.

The show concluded with an appearance by Joji, who sang “Beautiful,” his recent collaboration with Anyma. As Joji performed on the catwalk, a stone-rendered version of him appeared on the screen, continuing the juxtaposition of new and old, human and digital. ÆDEN effectively functioned as a significant expansion of Anyma’s world-building, seamlessly merging concepts of ancient art and culture with cutting-edge technology. Presenting such a show on the Coachella mainstage is a triumph for Anyma and a notable win for dance music as a genre.
