Alexander Brothers Facing Legal Firestorm Over Assault Allegations

Oren, Alon, and Tal Alexander, three brothers once renowned as "kings" in the luxury real estate markets of Miami and New York City, are currently facing severe accusations of rape and sexual assault. Over 60 alleged victims, including a minor, have come forward with claims spanning from 2009 to 2021. The brothers have pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking charges and vehemently deny any wrongdoing, with their trial slated for January 2026.
According to federal prosecutors, the brothers, aged 39 (Oren) and 38 (Alon and Tal), are accused of working in concert with others to repeatedly and violently drug, sexually assault, and rape dozens of victims. Prosecutors claim that the Alexander brothers often promised women luxury experiences in exchange for sex, and the alleged incidents frequently involved victims being drugged or consuming excessive alcohol to the point of incapacitation, rendering them unable to give consent. Miami Herald reporter Ana Claudia Chacin, who has interviewed several alleged victims, noted the "eerily similar" nature of their stories, often describing women becoming completely incapacitated.
The defense team, led by attorneys Edward O’Donnell and Joel Denaro, has cast doubt on the veracity of these claims, suggesting they may be fabricated and motivated by financial gain. In an exclusive interview with In Touch, O’Donnell argued, "It is no coincidence that for 10, 15 years, not one person had ever accused these brothers of ever doing anything inappropriate, and all of a sudden, at one time, in the same exact window frame, every single person that you’ve heard of that has accused the Alexander brothers of assaulting them came through a personal injury lawsuit trying to sue them for money." Denaro echoed this sentiment, urging consideration of the "mathematical possibilities" of all accusers emerging simultaneously through civil actions rather than directly through law enforcement. The defense also asserts a lack of physical evidence, with O’Donnell stating, "There’s zero [physical] evidence from any of the accusers that I’m aware of," pointing out that no alleged victims went to hospitals for rape kits. Furthermore, O’Donnell highlighted an email where an alleged victim inquired with a prosecutor about lawyers for a civil lawsuit against the brothers, which the defense claims demonstrates a pursuit of financial compensation. The District Attorney’s office, however, clarified that their response to the email was a direct answer to a question, not a referral.
Despite the defense's arguments, attorneys representing the alleged victims maintain that their clients' pursuit of civil remedies is a legitimate response to alleged trafficking and rape. Carissa Peebles, an attorney for one woman, emphasized her client's "lot of fear" in coming forward due to the brothers’ "status and wealth in society." Another anonymous accuser stated to NBC6, "If my decision to speak out encourages even one person to share their own truth... then this effort will have been worth it." Lindsey Acree, another alleged victim, initially sought to file a lawsuit anonymously to avoid being "known for" her assault.
Reasons for the alleged victims' delayed disclosure have been explored, with many citing shame, fear of not being believed, and the influential connections of the Alexander brothers. Chacin suggested a "domino effect," where the courage of one or two women to come forward with lawsuits empowered others to share their experiences. Maria Suska, one of Oren’s accusers, shared her personal account of an alleged assault at a Miami party in 2014, after being invited by Oren. She described an uncomfortable atmosphere with other women present, and later, an alleged attack in a watchtower. Suska admitted to not filing a police report at the time due to fear and self-blame, only doing so last year in December, after seeing other women's allegations and realizing she was not alone. She initially believed no one would believe her against such a powerful figure. While Suska’s case is outside Florida’s statute of limitations for legal proceedings, her decision to speak out reflects the broader sentiment among accusers. One woman reportedly attempted to report her assault to the police but was dismissed after being told she had "willingly consumed marijuana that she thinks was laced" and was denied a rape kit at the hospital.
In July, the legal team for Oren and Alon Alexander filed a motion to dismiss a New York lawsuit, presenting "flirty messages and nude pictures" that the woman allegedly sent to the brothers *after* the purported attack. Currently, Oren, Alon, and Tal Alexander are being held without bail at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. Their attorneys assert that despite the hardship of being away from their families, the brothers are being "strong" and have "no choice but to sit and fight" these accusations, which they maintain are unsubstantiated and financially motivated.
