Abia Government Pays N25 Million Towards Ngozi Nwosu's Medical Treatment

The Abia State Government has paid N25 million towards the medical treatment of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu following her public appeal for financial assistance. Governor Alex Otti approved the payment, which was made directly to the hospital where the actress is receiving treatment.
The intervention was confirmed by the Governor's Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Dr Justice Okey Martins. The 62-year-old actress recently disclosed that she required N30 million for three critical surgeries after spending three weeks in hospital.
In an emotional appeal, she called on Nigerians, colleagues and fans to support her as she struggled to cope with the rising cost of her treatment. The government's intervention covers a significant portion of the amount needed for her medical care.
Officials have described the N25 million payment as the first phase of Ngozi Nwosu's medical expenses. Dr Martins has appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to contribute towards the outstanding costs of her surgeries and treatment.
