6LACK Drops Electrifying New Single 'Sunday Again' with 2 Chainz

Atlanta singer-rapper 6LACK, pronounced "Black," is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated new album, "Love Is the New Gangsta," set to drop on May 22 via LVRN/Interscope Records. The project is being hailed by his label as his most ambitious work to date, deeply rooted in themes of self-exploration, healing, and radical honesty, as it delves into love, identity, and personal growth. Its central theme revolves around universal love.
As a taste of the forthcoming album, 6LACK recently unveiled his latest single, “Sunday Again,” featuring fellow Atlanta artist 2 Chainz. The track arrived on Friday accompanied by a compelling music video, directed by Levi Turner. The video portrays 6LACK and 2 Chainz surrounded by friends and family, creating a sense of community and serenity that directly reflects the album’s overarching theme. "Sunday Again" also features additional vocal contributions from artists such as Serayah, Jordan Ward, and Dos Dias, with video cameos from Mereba, umi, Quin, and slimwav.
This new release follows the album's debut single, “Bird Flu,” which garnered widespread critical acclaim upon its initial release. Both tracks collectively offer an early and promising glimpse into what is expected to be a significant artistic statement from the Zone 6 native.
Fans eager to secure their copy of "Love Is the New Gangsta" can pre-order the album now. Limited edition fan bundles, including vinyl, CDs, and exclusive apparel, are also available for purchase.
The upcoming album builds on 6LACK’s impressive discography, which includes his 2023 effort, "Since I Have a Lover." That critically praised record earned a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album and featured collaborations with notable artists like Don Toliver, Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, and India Shawn, receiving accolades from major outlets such as NPR, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and Complex.
6LACK's breakthrough came with his 2016 debut, "Free 6LACK," which also earned a Grammy nomination, this time for Best Urban Contemporary Album. His 2018 follow-up, "East Atlanta Love Letter," achieved significant commercial success, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and reaching the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B Albums chart. The artist's highest-charting moment to date remains his 2021 collaboration with Lil Tjay, “Calling My Phone,” which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and simultaneously topped both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. Throughout his career, the five-time Grammy-nominated artist has accumulated an impressive catalog boasting over 8 billion global streams.
