Yoruba Elders Raise Alarm Over Alleged Fulani South-West Conquest Plot
The Council of Yoruba Elders has raised an alarm over an alleged Fulani plot to conquer South-Western Nigeria. They are urging influential Yoruba personalities, from business leaders to religious figures and entertainers, to unite for a "rescue mission" to restore peace and security to Yorubaland.
The Council of Yoruba Elders (CYE) has recently issued a grave warning concerning an alleged insidious plot by the Fulani to assert dominance over South-Western Nigeria. This significant alert was articulated in a statement released on Saturday, co-signed by the council’s Secretary-General, Victor Taiwo, and the Chairman of the Security Committee, Amos Marcus Omuiyadun.
In their impassioned declaration, the elders expressed profound distress, lamenting that Yorubaland, a region spanning from southern Nigeria into the Republic of Benin, is currently enduring a period of intense grief and desolation. They attributed this widespread sorrow to what they described as an invasion by "murderers" and "vagabonds," plunging the ancestral lands into a state of wailing and mourning.
Responding to this perceived existential threat, the Council of Yoruba Elders has made an urgent appeal to a broad spectrum of influential Yoruba personalities. They implored these eminent sons and daughters of Yorubaland to set aside differences and collectively rally to undertake a critical "rescue mission" aimed at restoring peace and security within the region. The notable figures called upon to join this vital initiative include prominent business moguls such as Mike Adenuga, Bayo Ogunlesi, Femi Otedola, Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu, Afe Babalola, and Chief Olu Okeowo, alongside Mrs Bola Shagaya. The call also extended to revered religious leaders, including Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Pastor William Kumuyi, Bishop David Oyedepo, Alhaji Dauda Makanjuola Akinola, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Pastor Femi Emmanuel, and Prophet (Dr.) S.K. Abiara. Furthermore, celebrated entertainers Ibrahim Ayodeji (Wizkid) and Olamide Adedeji (Baddo) were urged to participate. Political figures and community leaders like Taofeek Arapaja, Adegboyega Adegoke Taofeek, Kunle Ara Pharmacy, Adebayo Adelabu, Oriyomi Hamzat, Sharafadeen Alli, Debo Ogundoyin, Azeem Gbolarumi, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, Senator Teslim Folarin, and Senator Hoseea Agboola (Alleluyah) were also specifically named, underscoring the council's desire for a unified, all-encompassing Yoruba response to safeguard their heritage and people.
