Ye's Star-Studded L.A. Show: Lauryn Hill & Travis Scott Join the Spectacle

Ye, the renowned hip-hop artist formerly known as Kanye West, amplified the star power at his second sold-out comeback concert at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Friday, April 3. The 48-year-old musician surprised his fans with a lineup of numerous special guests, transforming the 70,000-capacity venue into a hub of collaborative performances.

A major highlight of the evening was the appearance of Ms. Lauryn Hill. Emerging through a dense cloud of smoke, Hill joined Ye halfway through the show for a show-stopping rendition of “All Falls Down.” This track, which achieved No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004, famously samples Hill’s 2002 song “Mystery of Iniquity” from her live album, MTV Unplugged No. 2.0. Hill's presence extended beyond this performance, as she remained on stage for several additional numbers, including a seamless transition from her hit “Doo Wop (That Thing)” into West’s “Believe What I Say.” The family affair continued when she brought out her sons, Zion Marley and YG Marley, to perform “Heartbeat,” “Crisis,” and “Praise Jah in the Moonlight,” with YG having co-written the latter alongside his mother.

The significance of Lauryn Hill’s presence was further underscored by Ye’s previous remarks comparing his then-unreleased “Bully” album to Hill’s critically acclaimed 1998 album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” Speaking on The Download podcast in February 2025, Ye stated, “This is more the way I remember Lauryn Hill[‘s] album, the way I remember Miseducation. I feel it is my Miseducation.” He further likened it to a Gnarls Barkley album, explaining that despite the potentially negative connotation of “Bully,” he was operating at a “hyper-next-level frequency.”

Earlier in the evening, Ye welcomed Travis Scott to the stage for a collaborative performance of “Father,” the lead single from Ye’s “Bully” album. Scott, recognizable in a mask and a shirt emblazoned with the word “Unsane,” also treated the audience to his “Utopia” hit, “Fein.” Other notable guest appearances included CeeLo Green, who joined Ye for the title track of “Bully,” and Ye’s 12-year-old daughter, North West, who showcased her rapping skills on “Bless Me” and “Piercing on My Hand.” North had previously performed during Ye’s opening SoFi show earlier that week. André Troutman also made an appearance, contributing to a performance of “All the Love.”

Following the successful launch of “Bully,” Ye is reportedly planning a series of global performances. These include headlining the Wireless Festival in London for three nights from July 10–12, marking his first U.K. show since 2014. He also has an additional concert scheduled in Italy approximately a week later this summer, indicating an ambitious return to the international stage.
