Wizkid-and-Reekado-Banks

Afrobeats singer Reekado Banks claimed senior colleague, Wizkid expressed regret over a public fallout between them in 2020.

The controversy started when Reekado Banks announced the release of their collaborative song “Omo Olomo” during the EndSARS protests, which Wizkid heavily criticised.

Wizkid had called Reekado Banks a “fool” and “clout animal” for announcing the song release during the protests.

However, Reekado Banks stated that Wizkid has since visited him and they have reconciled.

According to Reekado Banks, in an interview on The Esther Show, Wizkid acknowledged that his response was “a bit edgy” and shouldn’t have gone that route.

Wizkid also reflected on their shared experience of losing their mothers recently, which seemed to bring a sense of empathy and closure to their situation.

Banks said: “Recently he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it. He was like he shouldn’t have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well.

“He was like we are three people in the game [music industry] who recently lost our moms. And he feels sorry about that time, so, we are good now.”
