Who Is Aryn Drake-Lee? Meet Jesse Williams' Ex-Wife | In Touch Weekly
Grey’s Anatomy star has been in and out of a messy court battle with his ex-wife, , since filing for divorce in 2017. As their custody battle for their young children continues to escalate, fans are curious about who Jesse’s ex-wife is.
Aryn is a real estate agent, who was born and raised in San Francisco. After moving across the country to attend college at Colombia University in New York, she moved back to Los Angeles to “shift her energy toward family.”
“Here she spent 8 years actively growing, nurturing, and cultivating business relationships in the entertainment world,” reads her official biography on the real estate group, Jenna Cooper LA’s website. “As a mama of two, living in the dream house of her creation after a 14-month renovation in Hancock Park, she brings a multifaceted lens and ease to all she encounters.”
Jesse and Aryn met in 2007 before he made it big as an actor. After five years of dating, the pair tied the knot in September 2012. Their romance was short-lived as by April 2017, Jesse filed for divorce.
Jesse and Aryn are the parents of two children. They welcomed their daughter, Sadie Williams, in 2013, followed by their son, Maceo August Lion-Baldwin Williams, in 2015.

Although Jesse and Aryn finalized their divorce in 2020, the former couple has continued to face ongoing legal disputes over their custody arrangement.
Jesse was awarded sole legal custody when it came to their two kids’ healthcare in March 2025, after requesting a hearing for their custody arrangement to be modified. Jesse had been pleading for 50/50 custody since 2024, claiming their children wanted more time with him.
As In Touch previously reported, in his initial motion for legal custody, filed in 2024, Jesse wrote, “The children and I are crazy about each other, and we have a deeply loving active and closely bonded relationship. There is absolutely no reason why Aryn should have more custodial time with the children than me.”
“They almost always ask me how many days they will be with me week to week and if they can ‘just stay longer.’ I moved to a home only 15 minutes from Aryn to make transitions as easy as possible but even with proximity, the number of transitions is unnecessarily challenging for our children and causes unnecessary interactions between me and Aryn,” Jesse added.
Days later, Aryn slammed the decision in a March 28, 2025, filing and claimed the judge refused to allow her to hand deliver evidence and proof “contradicting” Jesse’s position “related to his request to be given full medical custody.”
The mom of two claimed the decision stripping her of legal custody was made on “untruths and hearsay” from both Jesse and his lawyer.
“There are not any current, nor any previous for that matter, emergency medical conditions for either child requiring urgent care. There was never any refusal of necessary care made by [Aryn],” her motion read.
Aryn accused the judge of being “complicit in denying” her kids’ constitutional right to due process under the law when he failed to give her the chance to respond in court. In her motion, she included a series of emails that she alleges backed up her side of things. A hearing has been set for later in 2025.
