Published 7 hours ago4 minute read

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was released today, July 18, 2025, across theatres in Japan, and the quality is as we expected from Ufotable, the animation studio behind the adaptation. This arc has been anticipated for years after the visuals were teased, and to say they delivered is an understatement.

The Infinity Castle is incredibly difficult to animate, especially with the shifting labyrinthine and truly impossible architecture. It’s a fortress like no other, and according to the Japanese audience, Ufotable didn’t hold back any detail or effort in Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, calling it terrifying.

Through Demon Slayer, Ufotable has become known as one of the best animation studios. Fans had no doubt they would do justice to the Infinity Castle, but they weren’t ready for just how far they’d go.

When you think of Demon Slayer, you associate it with gorgeous visuals and fluid animation. It’s become the gold standard for how much effort a studio should put into an anime adaptation. Fans long for Ufotable to pick up their favorite manga and bring it to life.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has been highly anticipated ever since Season 3 of the anime series teased the beginning of what’s to come. The main characters kept falling and falling in the endless labyrinthine, desperate to survive and find their footing.

Their expressions, the music, and the animation of that moment made their emotions palpable. All of us were in awe of the Infinity Castle, so when the movie was announced, it quickly became the most anticipated one in the community. Even non-Demon Slayer fans are curious about it.

Now that Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has been released in Japan, the audience has several thoughts about it. The consensus, however, is that Ufotable has surpassed all the expectations we had, despite the great hopes we harbored. They call the studio “terrifying” because of how high the animation quality is.

Ufotable had already stunned fans with the visuals of the anime series and other movies, so Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has to be on another level. Other studios already had to watch out for Ufotable, but the movie might make it impossible to reach their level.

The main thing you need to know about the movie is that it’s only the first of a trilogy. It obviously features breathtaking animation, thrilling battles, and several emotional moments as Demon Slayer reaches the climax of its story.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle will have the characters pushing themselves to limits we haven’t seen before. The unpredictable environment makes it difficult for them to navigate and keeps them on their toes. From the teasers and the first trailer itself, we’re stressed out for them.

It will pick up the pace, unlike we’ve ever seen in the franchise, but fortunately, Ufotable is up for the job. There isn’t a moment where the animation drops in quality, despite how intense the battles are.

While Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is playing in theatres in Japan, other countries will have to wait for a month and maybe even two, depending on the region. Are you excited to see the first instalment of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie trilogy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
