Tragic Loss: Grammy-Winning Songwriter Talay Riley Fatally Stabbed

British-Nigerian singer and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Talay Riley, whose birth name was Mark Yinka Orabiyi, has died at the age of 35 following a stabbing incident in East London. The attack occurred around 9 a.m. on Friday on Pankhurst Avenue in Silvertown, prompting emergency services to respond. Despite their efforts, the musician could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command, part of the Metropolitan Police, have launched a murder investigation into the killing. A second victim, a man in his 20s, also sustained stab wounds but his injuries are not considered life-threatening. Three individuals were arrested on suspicion of murder; a 27-year-old man has since been released on bail pending further inquiries, while a 24-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were released with no further action. Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke appealed to the public for anyone with information, CCTV, or other footage from the morning of the incident to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.
