Tinubu's Daughter Launches Powerful Iyaloja Movement, Targets 10 Million Votes for Father!
Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo has launched the Iyaloja General Movement to mobilize market women and grassroots voters for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid. The movement aims to secure 10 million votes and sensitize the informal sector on the benefits of the current administration's policies, including the petrol subsidy removal. Tinubu-Ojo expressed confidence that despite current hardships, the President's economic reforms will yield long-term positive results for Nigeria.
Dr. Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu and Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, has inaugurated a political movement aimed at mobilizing market women and grassroots voters for her father's re-election campaign in 2027. The movement, named the Iyaloja General Movement (IGM), was officially launched in Abuja. Its membership is primarily drawn from market women across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with established structures reaching all 774 local government areas and electoral wards nationwide.
The primary objective of the IGM is to mobilize an ambitious 10 million votes for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general election. During the inauguration, Tinubu-Ojo emphasized that the movement would engage market leaders, traders, and other informal-sector operators to educate them about the elections and encourage support for candidates capable of providing effective leadership. She confirmed that coordinators and officials have been appointed at state, local government, and ward levels to spearhead the mobilization drive, recognizing market women and informal-sector workers as a significant voting bloc due to their extensive community reach.
Tinubu-Ojo urged Nigerians to critically assess the country's trajectory under the current administration, cautioning against electing candidates whose policies might reverse the progress achieved under her father's leadership. She expressed strong confidence in the President's economic policies, acknowledging the temporary hardship they have caused but maintaining that their long-term benefits would ultimately outweigh the current difficulties. She likened the current situation to a pregnant woman experiencing labor, with the painful policies eventually leading to positive outcomes for the nation.
Furthermore, the Iyaloja-General vigorously defended the removal of the petrol subsidy, highlighting that the increased revenue made available to the federal, state, and local governments has enabled them to execute various projects and meet financial commitments, including timely payment of workers' salaries. She called upon voters to reject any candidates promising to reinstate the subsidy, asserting that the revenue generated since its removal has been crucial for infrastructure development and other essential government activities. She stressed that the IGM would continue its engagement with market associations and grassroots communities to solidify support for President Tinubu leading up to the 2027 general election.
