'The Odyssey' IMAX Melbourne Tickets On Sale a Year in Advance
Tickets for Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” are now on sale, a full year ahead of its release.
Shot entirely with IMAX film cameras, IMAX Melbourne will be the only venue in the Southern Hemisphere where audiences can experience “The Odyssey” exactly as Nolan intends: projected on rare IMAX 1570 Film in the exclusive Expanded Aspect Ratio of 1.43.
Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” saw unprecedented demand for IMAX screenings, with IMAX Melbourne’s single screen accounting for 6.5% of the film’s domestic box office.
Advance tickets are available now at imaxmelbourne.com.au.
Earlier this month, the first teaser for “The Odyssey,” which is playing exclusively in cinemas, leaked online via X and TikTok.
True to Nolan’s style, the 70-second teaser arrives more than a year ahead of the film’s debut to build anticipation for one of the most highly awaited releases of 2025. Leaks began circulating on Tuesday before being swiftly removed. It’s not the first time a major release has faced leaks, following similar incidents with “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “House of the Dragon” and the final season of “Game of Thrones.”
The teaser offers a brief glimpse of Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as his son Telemachus, and a mystery character played by Jon Bernthal, with narration by what sounds like Robert Pattinson, who also stars in an undisclosed role.
In a recent interview with GQ Sports, Holland called working on “The Odyssey” a job of a lifetime, without a doubt.” The “Spider-Man” favourite is leading the ensemble of Nolan’s historical epic alongside Matt Damon, who stars as Odysseus. Holland is playing Telemachus, Odysseus’ son. The film marks Nolan’s highly-anticipated follow-up to his Oscar winner “Oppenheimer.”
“It was amazing. The job of a lifetime, without a doubt. The best experience I’ve had on a film set,” Holland said when asked about his experience on “The Odyssey” set. “Incredible. It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
“Working with Chris, getting to know him and Emma [Thomas] was absolutely fantastic. I’ve never seen someone that can work the way that they do, and there is a reason why they’re the best in the business for sure,” Holland continued. “To get a front row seat to that and to be a part of the process and to collaborate with a true master of his craft and learn from him was the best experience I’ve ever had.”
