TEETH 4 TEETH … With Justin Akpovi-Esade

Published 11 hours ago5 minute read

AND so, T4T was watching this Yoruba movie some couple of days ago on DSTV. Titled, Oruko Mi, the movie was directed by Benedict Ayoola and it starred Saidi Balogun, Debbie Shokoya, among others. Everything went on very well, well, if the usual stuff in most Yoruba movies, fits your definition of ‘very well’, then, you are well. The news here is, for more than 10 minutes after the movie ended, another ‘movie’ started playing, which was the making of the same movie; that was after the end credit reeled out. T4T was first surprised, it is not unusual for such things to happen after a movie, but it usually does not last up to two minutes, but for the making of Oruko Mi to play for more than 10 minutes? Somebody at DSTV went to sleep and forgot to yank that part off, for either for a commercial break or the next movie to start airing. T4T is very certain the person in charge of cueing went to sleep, a short but deep sleep.

THE other half of the defunct Afro pop duo, PSquare, Mr. P, is still very angry after the break up with his twin brother, RudeBoy. The group broke up over a year ago and both brothers have been at each other’s jugular. From dragging each other by the shirt to the police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to almost physical brawl, the fight does not look like it will ever come to an end and one has wondered at a point if they are truly related by blood not to talk of being twins!

The anger in Mr. P was evident in a post he made on Facebook during the week. It is hereby reproduced verbatim:
“My Block-Button has been active since yesterday because I have nothing to lose. Blocked over 350 people. And I will be doing more today! It’s my page and my business. I really need to sanitise my Facebook page just like I did on my Instagram and X pages! If you also wish to be blocked, you know what to do. This is my fan page (Mr P Fans page), not for haters or for those that are still mad about the separation of the group. If you are still mad, go to the group’s official Facebook page and rant it out! No negatives here; it’s either you are a Mr P fan or you are not! The new me doesn’t take any bullshit in this space. It’s aura for aura! So feel free to identify your foolish self so I can easily Block You! I come in peace and pieces!”

He was not done yet. “I am sure they know what the bucket is for! Call it childish or whatever! I don’t care! Remember it’s my page, not yours! Team P, this is not for you. I trust you all. So thanks so much for the love and support! More good music coming from this camp! Stay glued no distractions. We move without them!”

Again, T4T is asking, who will settle the Third World War between the twin brothers, Peter and Paul and their older sibling, Jude? Guess the only person with the capability to achieve a ceasefire is probably the biblical Angel Gabriel and T4T is asking our Daddy G.Os to please find a way to inform Baba God to send ‘small baba’ Angel Gabriel. The P Square family needs him, urgently!

THIS may be the first time T4T is doing this but he had no choice here. T4T has always known that this Yoruba movie star, Ibrahim Chatta, is a fantastic actor but in this particular film, Tani Oko Mi (Who is My Husband), he was extraordinary! Alongside his sidekick in the movie, another very fantastic actor, Joseph Momodu, they both delivered what T4T has officially termed ‘world class’ performances.
Directed by Muyiwa Awolumate, Tani Oko Mi is a compelling watch and T4T is saying thumbs up to Chatta, Momodu and all cast and crew of the flick.

SOME weeks ago, two young men decided to be famous and make their families proud. So, they bought some wraps of marijuana, popularly called ‘igbo’, and with someone filming them, sat on the hood of a parked police van, lit their ‘Igbo’ and were smiling into the camera. Nice one. For those of you who expected to see the end of the short movie, well, here it is. Police tracked Patrick Junior Asini, 34, and Tega Ojo, 20, arrested them and they were arraigned before an Oghara High Court in Delta on a three-count charge bordering on cyberbullying and cyberstalking, contrary to Sections 24 and 27 of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, among other charges. They were immediately remanded to a correctional facility where they will now have the time in the world to smoke their ‘Igbo’.
To God be the glory.

TRAGEDY struck again among the cast of award winning TV sitcom, My Flatmates, as one of its actors and co producers, Kayode Peters, passed away in Canada. Peters’ death is the second among the cast as talented singer, Sound Sultan, also passed some couple of years ago. Hope both incidents were just coincidence or should we start getting afraid?
