Officers discovered the boy with injuries consistent with a stab wound, and the incident triggered a significant police response, with armed officers and multiple squad cars seen on High Street, Withy Grove, and Dantzic Street, surrounding the shopping centre. Paramedics were also at the Arndale, using a lift to access the car park's upper floors.

As of Sunday, no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing, and GMP has maintained its appeal for information from the public.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

The Manchester Evening News reported that they understands that the boy may have been involved in an argument with other unknown youths just prior to the stabbing.

Additionally, several sources at the Arndale reported that the altercation occurred moments after an alleged shoplifting incident.

Detective Inspector of GMP’s City of Manchester District CID, Sam Jones has addressed about the public's concerns on Saturday.
