“Only Murders in the Building” is significantly expanding its star-studded cast for Season 6, with a host of new and familiar faces joining the production, which is currently underway in the U.K. Variety has officially confirmed the addition of several prominent actors in recurring guest star roles, including David Tennant (known for “Doctor Who” and “Rivals”), Nicola Coughlan (“Bridgerton,” “Derry Girls”), Jodie Whittaker (“Doctor Who,” “Broadchurch”), Jim Broadbent (“Moulin Rouge,” “Bridget Jones’ Diary”), Adrian Lukis (“The Crown,” “The War Between the Land and the Sea”), Richard Ayoade (“The IT Crowd,” “Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace”), and Kathryn Hunter (“The Tragedy of Macbeth,” “Poor Things”).

In keeping with the show’s tradition, specific character details for these new additions are being kept confidential. Season 6 will see the beloved lead trio—Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez—journeying across the pond to continue their investigation into the mysterious death of Cinda Canning, a plot point established in the Season 5 finale. The ensemble cast for the upcoming season also includes the return of Michael Cyril Creighton, alongside a robust roster of new recurring guest stars.
