Rwanda - David-Nickelberry-gets-MVP-of-the-Week-award-for-Rwandan-RBL-by-Hoops-Agents
American David Nickelberry (201-G/F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Tigers BB Kigali and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 26-year old swingman had a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Orion (#6, 4-8) 80-70. Tigers maintains the 4th position in Rwandan RBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tigers will need more victories to improve their 7-5 record. In the team's last game Nickelberry had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at Tigers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. The University of Buffalo graduate has very impressive stats this year. Nickelberry is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.0ppg) and averages solid 51.2% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young DR Congolese Franck Nyembo (2006) of
Espoir BBC Kigali. Nyembo impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Espoir lost that game 71-97 to the higher-ranked Patriots (#3, 8-3). Espoir are still at the very bottom. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Espoir managed to get this year. Nyembo is one of the most experienced players at Espoir and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.9ppg (#8). He also registered 9.7 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was Amatoe Kofi of
United Generation Basketball Kigali (#5). Kofi showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of UGB, leading his team to a 106-74 easy win against the lower-ranked Azomco (#8, 2-9). The chances of UGB ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kofi could help UGB to bring them higher in the standings. Kofi has a very solid season. In 4 games in Rwanda he scored 10.3ppg.Other top performing players last week:
4. Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) of APR - 18 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Jeffery Stubbs (189-PG-1991) of Orion - 27 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists
6. Mark Burton (183-PG-1998) of UGB - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
