Raj witnesses double rainfall vs 2024, no deficit districts so far
Jaipur: Over three weeks into the southwest monsoon, Rajasthan has recorded significantly improved rainfall, with no district reporting scanty or deficit rain. According to the Jaipur Met office, the state has received an average of 201.63 mm rainfall till Saturday, more than double the 100.65 mm recorded during the same period in 2024.Officials from the Met office and water resources department told TOI that the monsoon's performance so far has been considerably better than last year. "Baran district, so far, received the highest average rainfall as a rainfall of 529 mm was recorded till Saturday in this district compared to 189.96 mm recorded till July 12, 2024. For this period, Bikaner received the lowest rainfall, which is 95 mm compared to 64 mm recorded till this period," said an officer.In Jaipur, a rainfall of 259 mm was recorded till Saturday compared to 118 mm of rainfall recorded till July 12, 2024. On the other hand, moderate to heavy showers continued across the state as Sambhar (Jaipur) received a rainfall of 90 mm, which was the highest in the state. The Met office, in its forecast, said that many places in Jaipur, Bikaner, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions of the state are likely to get heavy rainfall on Sunday.
