Radiohead Rocks Australia: Iconic Band Returns After 15-Year Hiatus with Epic 16-Show Tour!
Radiohead is embarking on a monumental 16-show Australian arena tour in 2027, marking their first return in 15 years and their only global performances next year. The tour features residencies in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, with tickets available via a registration system and including a charitable donation.
Iconic British rock band Radiohead is set to make a highly anticipated return to Australia in 2027, marking their first tour there in 15 years. This extensive 16-show arena tour will comprise the band’s only concerts worldwide next year, generating immense excitement among fans. The tour, presented by Frontier Touring, adopts a unique residency format, allowing Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Philip Selway, and Ed O’Brien to settle into each city for multiple nights rather than a traditional national run.
The Australian leg kicks off with a four-night stand at Perth’s RAC Arena on May 3, 4, 6, and 7. Following this, the band will move to Melbourne for a six-show residency at Rod Laver Arena from May 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, and 20. The tour then concludes with another six-show residency in Sydney at Afterpay Arena, with dates on May 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, and June 1.
After their Australian performances, Radiohead will head to Saitama, Japan, for five additional shows, confirming no other 2027 concerts will take place elsewhere. This run follows a series of European residency shows in late 2025, which marked their first performances after several years away from the road, during which band members pursued various solo and side projects. Speculation about their return had been growing for months, partially fueled by guitarist Ed O’Brien, who had previously expressed the band's desire to return to Australia.
Given the expected overwhelming demand, tickets for the Australian tour will be distributed through a registration system, covering both general and accessible tickets, rather than a conventional first-come, first-served sale. Registration is currently open and will close promptly at 5 p.m. AEST on Thursday, September 10. Frontier Touring has assured that all entries submitted within this window will be treated equally. Each purchased ticket will also include a $2 donation, which will be directed towards supporting Greenpeace Australia Pacific and the Australian Marine Conservation Society.
Radiohead, originating from Oxford, England, stands as one of the most acclaimed and influential rock bands of the past three decades. They achieved their breakthrough in 1993 with the iconic single “Creep,” which remains their highest-charting Billboard Hot 100 single at No. 34 and later earned platinum certification in the U.S. While the band has only three times reached the Hot 100 with "Creep," "High and Dry," and "Nude," they have consistently been a dominant force on the album charts. Radiohead has secured four No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200: Hail to the Thief (2003), In Rainbows (2007), the era following The King of Limbs, and their most recent studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool (2016). Their discography also includes landmark records such as OK Computer and Kid A. A six-time Grammy-winning band, Radiohead was deservedly inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
