Priyanka Chopra and Zac Efron to Reunite for New Project
Priyanka Chopra is poised to share the screen once more with Zac Efron, her co-star from Baywatch, in an upcoming Hollywood project. This untitled comedy, directed by Nicholas Stoller, will also feature Will Ferrell, Michael Peña, Regina Hall, Billy Eichner, and Jimmy Tatro.
The film marks a reunion between Stoller and Amazon MGM Studios, the production house that backed his recent comedy, You’re Cordially Invited. News of Chopra's involvement was confirmed when she shared The Hollywood Reporter's casting announcement on her Instagram Stories.
The movie, previously known as Judgement Day, centers on a young convict, played by Zac Efron, who, upon release from prison, takes an unscripted TV courtroom hostage. Efron's character believes that the judge's verdict, portrayed by Will Ferrell, led to the destruction of his life. The specific role Priyanka Chopra will play remains undisclosed.
Production of the film will be handled by Nicholas Stoller through Stoller Global Solutions, along with Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Alex Brown under the Gloria Sanchez Productions banner.
In addition to this project, Priyanka Chopra has several other ventures in the works, including Citadel season 2, SSMB 29, and Krrish 4. Recently, Chopra shared a glimpse into her “April so far” with a photo dump that included moments with her husband, Nick Jonas, and daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. One of the photos also captured a reunion with her Krrish co-star, Hrithik Roshan. Roshan had previously shared a photo with Priyanka and Nick, expressing his admiration for Nick Jonas's performance in The Last Five Years.
Looking ahead, Priyanka Chopra's upcoming film slate includes SS Rajamouli’s SSMB 29, which stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. She is also set to appear in Heads of State alongside John Cena, Jack Quaid, and Idris Elba, as well as The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers. Furthermore, she is expected to reprise her role as Priya Mehra in Krrish 4 and will also be involved in the second season of her web series, Citadel.
