Priscilla Ojo & Juma Jux Welcome Son: Iyabo Ojo's Daughter Announces Baby Rakeem!

Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of prominent Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, and her Tanzanian husband, singer Juma “Juma Jux” Mkambala, have joyfully welcomed their first child, a baby boy. The birth took place in Canada on Sunday night, marking a significant milestone for the couple who revealed their pregnancy in a joint Instagram post on July 24, just three months after their wedding celebrations began.
The couple's journey to parenthood followed a series of ceremonies that garnered widespread attention. Their wedding commenced with an Islamic ceremony in Tanzania in February, followed by a traditional ceremony held in Lagos in April. The extensive celebrations culminated in a grand finale in Tanzania on May 28, an event notable for its striking visuals and the attendance of numerous high-profile personalities. Days before the birth, they hosted a gender reveal party in Tanzania, where blue confetti confirmed they were expecting a boy.
Iyabo Ojo herself confirmed the birth and the baby's name, Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, on her Instagram page. She shared a heartwarming photograph of herself cradling the newborn alongside Priscilla at the hospital, expressing her delight with the caption: “Say hello to the latest sexiest grandma in town, my grandson is the cutest Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala.” Actress Toyin Abraham also celebrated the news, sharing a photo of the couple on Instagram. Ojo further revealed the creation of an Instagram page for the newborn, which quickly amassed over 19,000 followers.
Prior to the birth, Priscilla's baby shower was held in Toronto, Canada, attended by her mother, husband, friends, and family. Iyabo Ojo had traveled from Nigeria to Canada specifically for this occasion after the couple's initial pregnancy announcement. Priscilla, in response to critics she dubbed “womb watchers and calculators,” clarified that she and Juma had a private Nikah ceremony last year before their more public celebrations.
The relationship between Priscilla and Juma Jux first gained public attention in September 2024 (likely an editorial error, should be 2023 or earlier, given the wedding dates), when photos of them circulating on social media sparked interest. Juma Jux, born Juma Mkambala on September 1, 1989, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is a leading music star and fashion entrepreneur who discovered his passion for music at the age of 16. Priscilla, born on March 13, 2001, holds a degree in Media and Theatre Arts from Babcock University and is a brand influencer and entrepreneur. She made her acting debut at 14 in “Beyond Disability,” earning a nomination for Best Child Actress at the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
