Pop Star Ariana Grande Drops Surprise Live Album, 'Petal'!

Ariana Grande surprised her fans with the unannounced release of 'petal (The Complete Live Album)' on Tuesday morning, September 8. This new live album, an iTunes exclusive, features all twelve tracks from her most recent studio album, also titled 'petal'. Grande made the announcement via an early morning post, confirming the inclusion of every song from the original studio LP in a live format.

The album offers live renditions of several popular tracks, including “Kiss Me,” “Petal,” “Stay,” “Oh Well,” “Big Feelings,” “Freak,” and “Warning Signs.” Additionally, it features a unique version of the LP’s lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” which was recorded during a rehearsal for her recently concluded Eternal Sunshine tour. Arianators will also be treated to live takes of “Like I Do,” “Never Get Over Me,” “Bad Thing (Bunny Hop),” and “Nowhere, Nobody,” providing a comprehensive live experience of her latest work.

The surprise album release comes shortly after Grande wrapped up her Eternal Sunshine tour on September 1, with her final performance held in London. During this tour, Grande notably made a public adjustment to the lyrics of her hit song “Thank U, Next,” singing, “Wrote some songs about Ricky/ I’m tryna make him my last.” This lyrical change intensified persistent rumors that she and her former boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, might be rekindling their relationship.

Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez previously dated from 2015 to 2016, a relationship that began after they met and worked together during Grande’s Honeymoon Tour. Recent weeks have seen further speculation about their reunion, fueled by several selfies posted by the singer last month, some of which showed her cuddling with Alvarez, her former backup dancer.

In early August, Grande announced a decision to step back from public engagements, citing “ongoing public scrutiny.” This withdrawal included her planned co-starring role in the West End revival of 'Sunday in the Park With George.' Her 'Wicked' co-star, Jonathan Bailey, also recently revealed his departure from the same production.
