Full List: Tinubu Appoints Fayose, 25 Others to Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a significant reshuffle in federal government agencies, confirming 26 new appointments across 10 different commissions and bodies. These appointments, which take immediate effect, were formally disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Among the high-profile appointments, former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has been named as the new chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

He will lead the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who have been appointed as members and non-executive directors. The existing Director-General of the agency, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors will complete the board’s composition.

In another key development, Major General Junaid Bindawa, a retired military officer, assumes the role of chairman for the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. The President also made eight additional appointments to this commission. Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, a former member of the House of Representatives from Lagos, will serve as the new secretary of the commission.

Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun, and Yakubu Umar Barde have been appointed as commissioners, representing Benue, Oyo, and Kaduna states, respectively. Furthermore, Dr Mai Adamu Yau from Borno, Ginika Florence Tor from Enugu, Engineer Lawrence Okoh from Edo, and Bello Morenike Iyabode from Kogi were designated as members of the Commission.

The administrative changes also include the redeployment of Tosin Johnson Adeyanju. Previously serving as the Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), Adeyanju has been moved to the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission as its new Secretary.

Other critical appointments include Dr Abuh Mohammed as the Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Engineer Julius Oloro, a former council chairman, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Kwara-based National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), succeeding Dr A.R. Kamal, who passed away in January.

President Tinubu has also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu at its helm as chairman. The board members include Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.

Additionally, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru has been appointed as the new executive secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) in April.

Completing the list of appointments, Gisaor Vincent Iorja has been named as the Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority. Iorja, an economist, legal scholar, and academic currently serving as the secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), replaces Mathias Byuan, who resigned to contest the governorship election in Benue State.
