Percy Jackson Season 3 Unleashes 'Titan's Curse' Footage and Release Date
Disney+ unveiled the opening minutes of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" Season 3 at San Diego Comic-Con, announcing a November 20 premiere. Adapting "The Titan’s Curse," the season will see Percy, Annabeth, and Grover embark on a crucial quest to save Annabeth and Artemis from the Titan Atlas, while also introducing new beloved characters and expanding the mythical world. The cast and creators emphasized the season's dedication to being the "most book accurate" adaptation yet.
The first few minutes of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 3 was released by Disney+ thrilled fans at San Diego Comic-Con.
It has been officially announced that it will premiere on November 20, and the highly anticipated third season will adapt Rick Riordan’s acclaimed third book in the series, “The Titan’s Curse.”
The film is been expanded more on the beloved Greek mythology universe beyond Camp Half-Blood and introduce some of the franchise’s most iconic characters.
The central plot of Season 3 will follow Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), Grover Underwood (AryanSimhadri), and their fellow campers from Camp Half-Blood.
Their crucial mission involves saving Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and the goddess of the hunt, Artemis (Dafne Keen), from the formidable Titan Atlas (Holt McCallany).
Additionally, the season will involve a quest to rescue two missing demigods, presumably Nico and Bianca di Angelo, and safely transport them to Camp Half-Blood.
The exclusive preview footage shown at Comic-Con revealed the opening of the season with Thalia Grace (Tamara Smart) battling a towering blue monster in a rain-soaked parking garage, decorated for Christmas.
At the end of Season 2, it was showed that Thalia returned, and is visibly annoyed by Percy when he joins the fight, reiterating her independence.
As the battle concludes, Annabeth appears, admitting she sought Percy’s help and that both need Thalia’s assistance for their urgent mission.
The footage highlighted the palpable tension between Thalia and Percy, a rivalry playfully described by Tamara Smart as “generational beef,” a dynamic stemming from the end of Season 2 where Percy openly expressed his reluctance for Zeus’ daughter to join them.
Rather than resolve the argument, Thalia hotwires a car and speeds away, bringing the preview to an abrupt close.
While the exact circumstances differ slightly from Riordan’s novel, the series aims to remain closely tied to its source material, with the search for Grover also emerging as a major objective.
The third season sees the return of several key cast members, including Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan,Daniel Diemer as Tyson, and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue.
Furthermore, a host of new characters will be introduced, expanding the narrative scope. These include Levi Chrisopulos as Nico di Angelo,Olive Abercrombie as Bianca di Angelo,Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade,Hubert Smielecki as Apollo, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite, and Ming-Na Wen as Hera.
During the panel discussion, Walker Scobell, who portrays Percy Jackson, expressed his belief that Season 3 represents the “most book accurate” adaptation they have undertaken so far.
This sentiment was echoed by executive producer Dan Shotz, who affirmed that the creative team consistently references Riordan’s novels throughout production, using them as a faithful guide to bring the story to life on screen.
