Pennywise's Dark Secrets Revealed: 'IT: Welcome to Derry' Unleashes Shocking Origin and Episode 6 Twists!

Episode 6 of Andy Muschietti's IT: Welcome to Derry, titled "In the Name of the Father," plunges deeper into the terrifying return of Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård), setting the stage for a climactic battle and revealing a shocking truth about one of the series' most intriguing characters. After four episodes of build-up, Pennywise's reemergence last week in "29 Neibolt Street" has thrown the new group of Losers into disarray, forcing them to confront their deepest fears as the killer alien clown targets Derry once more.

The episode opens with a chilling black-and-white flashback to Juniper Hill in 1935, where a young girl named Mabel is led by a nurse into a basement boiler room to meet the clown. A red balloon floats by, and Pennywise appears, terrifying Mabel. Meanwhile, in 1962, tensions run high among the town's residents. Will (Blake Cameron James) faces the wrath of his father, Leroy (Jovan Adepo), after an incident in the sewers. Leroy, uncharacteristically, slaps Will, who, crying that Pennywise has got his father too, flees the base. Elsewhere, wanted posters of Hank Grogan (Stephen Rider) proliferate, inciting armed lynch mobs.

The young Losers are also at odds. In the standpipe, Ronnie (Amanda Christine) and Lilly (Clara Stack) argue fiercely, with Ronnie blaming Lilly for everything after the horrors in the sewers. Lilly, armed with a dagger that saved her, is determined to fight Pennywise, but a furious Ronnie storms out. Will, meanwhile, follows Lilly, the girl he likes, showing his burgeoning concern for her. Dick Hallorann (Chris Chalk), haunted by his newly opened "box of fears," seeks solace in alcohol at the Black Spot, the new gathering place for Black soldiers. He discovers they are hiding Hank in their storage room. Charlotte (Taylour Paige) brings Ronnie to her father, but Hallorann remains hesitant, fearing the consequences of their actions.

Romance begins to blossom amid the terror. At the standpipe, Rich (Arian S. Cartaya) helps Marge (Matilda Lawler) change the bandage on her injured eye. Rather than being repulsed, he finds her wound fascinating. They share a tender moment, discussing the dagger as their only hope against the clown and the necessity of facing it together, signifying the start of young love in Derry. Later, at lunch, Rich gives Marge an old Cuban eye patch, and Marge, empowered, stands up to the popular girls who mock Rich, embracing her own
