Pati Patni Aur Panga: Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary stir things up on ‘Laughter Chefs’ with Bengali food challenge; says 'For us Bengalis, food is an extension of our stories...'

This week on ‘Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment,’ the kitchen turned into a cultural fest as Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary dropped by with a heartfelt request and a whole lot of sweetness! Known as the couple goals, the duo lit up the stage with their charm, spoke about their upcoming reality show ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga-Jodiyon Ka Reality Check’, and brought a slice of Bengal to the most entertaining kitchen in India.

What followed was a celebration of flavour, fun, and fiery competition. As Debina expressed her love for Bengali cuisine, she requested Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi to include a Bengali dish in the challenge, something that had only been featured once before on the show. True to his ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ spirit, Chef Harpal said yes, and the kitchen lit up with the aroma of an iconic Bengali mithai, Fish-shaped Sondesh Kheer Kodom, becoming a battleground for creativity and chaos. With the passion of a seasoned home chef and the pride of a Bengali daughter, Debina became the torchbearer of tradition, guiding the celebrity jodis with charm and chatter, peppered with Bengali anecdotes, tips, and hands-on demos. Gurmeet, beaming with pride, cheered her on like a true partner-in-crime. Adding their own spicy twist, Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah cooked up an “extra fish”, hilariously declaring it a good-luck charm for Debina and Gurmeet’s upcoming show ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’.

As the laughter rose and mithai melted hearts, the contestants served up a joy-drenched episode where flavours battled it out and bonds were baked anew. But in a kitchen where nothing is ever as simple as it seems, will the sweetest dish win, or will it all end in a fishy fiasco?Talking about her experience on the show, Debina shared, “Laughter Chefs is honestly one of our favourite shows to watch as a family. Gurmeet and I love the madness and warmth it brings—it feels like you're part of the fun even from your living room. When I realised Bengali cuisine had only been featured once, I just had to bring that up. For us Bengalis, food is an extension of our stories, emotions, and culture. I requested Chef Harpal to include a Bengali dish, and he agreed without hesitation! When he announced ‘Fish-shaped Sondesh Kheer Kodom’ as the challenge, I was thrilled.

What made it even more special was sharing our tradition with everyone on set. And now, with Pati Patni Aur Panga, this feels like the perfect start to the celebrations—we're bringing our real chemistry to your screens very soon!”
