The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. The PCB’s decision came after a drone struck the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which was set to host Thursday’s PSL fixture, amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

The PCB stated that it will announce a revised date for the match in due course. The decision followed an emergency meeting convened by the board to discuss the future of PSL 2025, after at multiple locations in Pakistan, destroying systems in Lahore on Thursday. The incident occurred just a day after India launched strikes on terror camps inside Pakistan, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.

The 10th season of the Pakistan Super League is now at its business end. The Rawalpindi leg of the T20 tournament had only just begun on May 7. The PCB is reportedly considering relocating the remainder of the tournament to Karachi.

The PSL, a six-team competition, has eight more matches scheduled this season, with the final set for 18 May. Several high-profile overseas players, including David Warner and Kane Williamson, are featuring in PSL 2025. PSL CEO Salman Naseer also met with the overseas players in Rawalpindi, assuring them that they had nothing to worry about, as the PCB is closely monitoring the situation.
